This is my first Sherryl Woods novel. It really is a good read characterized by real people in real situations. I especially enjoyed the diversity of characters. Swan Point shows us the difficulties of starting a new life with children in spite of an ex-husband that does not act in the interest of his family. I loved the interplay of the children, Adelia and her family. The town is like a Greek Chorus.
This book started off slowly for me and for some reason I had trouble getting into it. Keep reading! It gets to the point that you cannot wait to see what happens. Adelia comes to Swan Point to start a new life as a single mother. Gabe Frankln returns to Swan Point to make amends for the troubled life he led when growing up. The relationship between them is troubled as they neither one want to get involved with anyone at this point and time in their lives. They keep getting closer as time goes but can they overcome their past and move on together?!
Makes me want to run out to a used book store to find all the copies of this series. I need to go to her website to get a list of the correct books. A good read. Can't wait for the next one, that I suspect is going to be about Carolina. Well worth a read.
Love the book. Yet another feat read from Sheryl Woods. I feel that I am a resident of Serenity each time I read her books. The Sweet Magnolias are my my favorite!!!
This is a very enjoyable read in the continuation of characters from the Sweet Magnolias group. The social topic involved is spousal abuse, both verbal and physical. But Woods handles the subject with care not to shock or trouble the reader too much. In other words, she does not bash us over the heads with horror tales. She does paint a rather glowing picture of children handling a new man in their mother's life.

I have to keep telling myself that I read Sherryl Woods because she makes me feel good about life, in general. The small town nosy women would get a bit hard to take, if I lived in the setting. They did form a good support group for abused women, though.
Loved this story of Adelia and Gabe, and all the other characters !
Sherryl has such a way of telling wonderful stories of real life. I've really liked this whole series.
It's so nice, wonderful really, to be able to keep reading book after book that I really enjoy, and so many of
the same people in each ! I love the "Sweet Magnolias", this tight group of women. At times, in the other
books, I felt they interfered a bit much in other people lives, it was sometimes annoying as all get out.
In this one, there wasn't as much of that, and that's a lot of why it's my fave.
Another excellent book in the Sweet Magnolias series. While these books can be read as a stand alone book, to really know all the characters in all their craziness and glory you should read the series from the beginning. You won't be sorry you did. Sherryl Woods does an amazing job brining each character to life, and as the stories progress there are still glimpses into the first characters that made you fall in love with the little town called Serenity. I'm ready to move, I think you will be too. I don't like posting about plots and giving everything away, so I will say honestly; you can't go wrong with this series. Start from the beginning, you'll be ready to read the second book immediately after finishing the first. Happy reading!
