Disclosure: I interviewed Dr. Matt on my website in 2013.

I like to go in the bathtub and read. I use my Kindle 2 not my iPad. I am supposed to be reading Playmates by Jess C. Scott which is awesome, but I have it on my iPad, and I don't want to take my iPad into the bathtub, because if I drop it, it will expire faster than Sean Bean on a movie screen. But my Kindle 2 is less likely to break under those conditions, and if it does, s***, it's old, so whatever. Anyway. So this morning I took my Kindle 2 into the bathtub and had to find something to read on it, and I looked through the things that were on it and I wanted not to make a commitment to start a heavy-duty novel or a series like the many books on my Kindle 2 by people that I know and like that I want to read sometime. And I saw this book, which I downloaded whenever last year, who knows?

So I stayed there in the bathtub till I read the entire book. It made me laugh out loud once and smirk a number of times. For me, even one laugh out loud is good, because I rarely laugh out loud except when I am faking it. But I was not faking it when I laughed out loud that time. I will fake it now. Har-de-har-har! See, that was a fake laugh. Ho-ho-ho, hee-hee-hee. Those were fake laughs, too. But Dr. Matt's book actually made me laugh. It was that example of a word that he didn't know what it was but he still understood what was happening. It was almost callipygian.

I am writing this review differently because what the other reviews say is what I think and reviews that are all the same are boring. If you write a review that is the same as the other reviews, then I will think your review is boring, and I may wonder if maybe you are also boring, but you should not care what I think because that is my problem, not yours (ask Dr. Matt). Most of the reviews on this book actually are not boring; in fact, they are similar to Dr. Matt's style, just like this one is, because that style is infectious and appealing (or maybe I just want to prove I can do it better than the other reviewers, so in your face, you Brian Williams wannabes).

Anyway, what the other reviews said that is what I agree with is that there is some actual good advice mixed in with the attempts to parody self-help books. I also recognized some Tony Robbins, although I would rather read this than Tony Robbins because Tony Robbins is so successful that I have difficulty taking advice from him because I believe that successful people have had lots of luck and don't really want to acknowledge it. So frump Tony Robbins anyway. Dr. Matt doesn't have lots of success; he just has a mustache. He is my kind of guy. Anyway, I will certainly think about all the advice and attitudes in this book and try to get as much use out of them as they deserve to have use gotten out of them, and that is more than some advice that has been given to me, such as the colleague who told me that I should teach Ordinary People. I don't want to teach Ordinary People. Frump Ordinary People. And frump Zadie Smith also, by the way, who is successful through luck but doesn't want to acknowledge it and even if she did I wouldn't believe her. But I digress. Don't like it? It's your problem.

There is good advice in this book, as I said. In fact, I think I will tell my students about the good advice, but the students will have their headphones on or be texting or think I am too boring to listen to. And so they won't learn anything. And that will be their problem.

Just Stop Having Problems Stupid! The AntiSelfHelp Guide edition by Dr Matt Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews

I really enjoyed this short book. Quick easy read that had me laughing out loud. Really. I mean, people looked at me funny. Anyway, I'd recommend it to a friend...
What problems you may ask?

NONE, because I stopped having them, and now you can too!

Excellent quick read, entertaining and despite the humor it makes you
stop and think.
This book is... well, it's just awesome. Really delves into the deepest psychology of how to better your life. Highly recommended.
This is mildly entertaining. It is a nice gag gift which is why I bought it.
There isn't a lot I know in this world...

I know cheese is delicious, I know Canada is cold, and I know I had problems.

That was until a passing stranger handed me this book, without saying a word, but clearly skipping down the street. Intrigued, I rushed home and began to read.

Little did I know I was about to indulge in possibly the most useful piece of literature since the Da Vinci Code.

Dr. Matt's "Just Stop having Problems, Stupid", is the one resource that every modern person needs. His expertise on the practice of "Life" provides insight into the causes of problems, and why they're stupid. Can it be as simple as stopping? Yes. It can be. Wait. No. It IS.

I have since read this piece 87 times, and am always discovering new things about myself. Sometimes the self discoveries seem separate from the material, such as the mole on my foot, but I feel they are correlated none the less.

If you are human, or non-human but intelligent enough to read this review, you MUST have this book. A fulfilled life cannot be achieved without it.
*** CONTAINS NO SPOILERS!!! ***

This short how-to/self-improvement book can solve all of your problems and let you become all you were meant to be. Dr. Matt has handed humankind the guidebook to problem-free existence.

●●●This book is satire, and Matthew Dean is not a real doctor. But this is a funny read that actually offers a few tidbits of wisdom that anyone with common sense can utilize.●●●
If anything, this is a book that will probably make you question why you have purchased so many other self-help books. While it is humorous and I had to hide my chuckling to keep my boyfriend from wondering why I was laughing at myself alone in a quiet room at 1230 in the morning, it actually does contain a few great slaps in the face that may potentially keep you from wasting time thinking about things. I consider that to be a win-win in itself.

"Dr." Matt is quirky and fun in his rendition of a self-help book, though I assume that his goal was to be a parody. Instead, his creation evolved into a self-help book, is a little ironic considering the content.

A great combination of satirical comedy and certainly a gem of advice rolled into one. However, the internet does sometimes hate satire. Just as there are those who are color-blind, there are also those who are "satire-blind". We all know those people are not very funny in the first place.

For the rest of us, I loved the book and intend to read more from Dr. Matt in the near future.
