I guess I am the exception to all the reviews. To be fair, I didn't love the first book but it had enough potential that I went ahead and bought the second one hoping that it would be better. It was not. I just couldn't get into either of the main characters. Fil was angry and bitchy all the time and Spar just didn't seem believable to me. Fil doesn't treat Spar well at all, but they end up having sex and falling for each other anyway. I didn't believe the romance, didn't like the characters and didn't finish the book which hardly ever happens to me. I didn't even care enough to read the end to see what happened. It's to bad because I like her other series.

Another gargoyle winner!!!! I enjoyed it immensely!!!! Very detailed auctioned packed story of Ella's friend ( Ella from book 1 ), Felicity or "Fil", and her gargoyle Soar that we read briefly about at the tail end of book 1. This book also introduces a third female character into the mix that I'm sure will factor in more in the next book. Very very well worth reading!!!! Prepare for magic, romance, danger, action, battles, and sarcasm!!!
Christine Warren is superb at supernatural writing. The Gargoyle series rocks (no pun intended). I look forward to each new book in this series and the mesh of the personalities. As guardians of the human race and protectors from evil, the gargoyle will stop at nothing to protect us but even more to protect his mate. Wiccan craft and earth magic combined with the almost unstoppable guardian make for great reading!
Whenever the plot gets too thin throw in another sex scene. I found myself skimming past the sex to get to the end so I could put the book away. Big Bad, perky girl, super alpha guy who is immediately in love with the perky girl. PG wants to lick the AGs butt. I do not understand why human sex is so cannibalistic in these books but the heroine is either wanting to lick or bite the sex god while her panties are soaked. (Who really calls them panties outside of these novels, anyway?) I don't recommend this.
Felicity is an artist and art restorer doing a favor for a friend. That favor gets her into a whole heap of trouble. Breaking and entering, encountering a crazy killer, bringing to life an ancient gargoyle. Oh, and a whole bunch of really bad guys trying to kill her. Spar is the gargoyle, an ancient Guardian and a really old fashioned one to boot. This book was at times horrifying, funny, and sexy. It certainly never was boring. Great book.
Love love love her books. This is second in series and was as good as the first. I did skip some but only because to much info, but still great book. Fil goes into a shop to ck out the gargoyle statue butngoes back in under cover of night because there is just something that draws her to it. Spar is a thousand year old guardian warrior the light who fights the darkness. He is the second one to be found. Can't say to much r will give the book away. In parts was a little bit more demon than I like. The sacrifice part was kind of weir ding me out. Love the books but some stuff bothers me. I knew what it was about still bought it ).. But overall great book keeps u interested and waiting to c what happens between the two..
I love all of Christine Warren's books and own them all.This one was really unique because it was the first gargoyle series that I read.Now by series I don't mean a 2 parter, this book is a complete book from beginning to hea ending,but this is the 2nd in a series of stand alone gargoyle stories.The couple in this book as it turns out,the female lead is best friends with the first books heroine and she is doing a favor for her when the trouble and love begins.The gargoyles also know each other because they are defenders of humans by an evil force that has somehow thru magic managed to break open a hole between their universe and ours.I am sure she will probably write one or two more in the series because they still have to stop the evil trying to break thru to our universe.I will be looking forward to them as all her books are excellently written and each is a stand alone story although she does carry over charectors from one book to the next so we get to see how they are doing in addition to getting a new couple's love story.I totally recommend this book and in fact have to a lot of my friends!!!
Excellent book Christine! I am so enjoying this new book series by Christine Warren. I loved her Other's series very much & was hoping the Gargoyles would be just as good. So far after finishing the 2nd book in the series, Stone Cold Lover, it may just be a better series. But I am thinking she will need to write a lot more books so we can all see for ourselves.....lol.

In this book Felicity or Fil to her friends is sent on a mission to find a second gargoyle. She does in the first chapter & at that point the book takes off on a wild ride. Spar is a very old fashioned kind of guy starting with her name, ongoing argument by using Felicity's full name. This and more will keep you laughing all through the book. Of course the Order is in full swing trying to take over the world, so not everything is funny, but Christine will keep you totally hooked on the story until the very end. And yes it does end, but you get a heads up for the next book. Which I for one am hoping comes out soon! -)

We also get characters from the first Gargoyle book, Heart of Stone, with Ella & Kees making an appearance. There is also a new friend in the mix, Wynn. A very extraordinary witch. Can't wait to see her story unfold.

I love these characters & hope Christine writes for many more new friends we find in each book. This is a must read for those who love the Other series & for those who are just looking for a great love story.
